Journey of Change: Women Pushing Boundaries, the official book of Team SCA’s journey in the Volvo Ocean Race 2014/15, is now available for purchase.
This photographic documentary-style book was officially launched by Annie Lush, Anna-Lena Elled and author Yvonne Gordon at a press briefing at the Gothenburg Book Fair. It is available to purchase through Amazon as well as selected bookshops.
With hundreds of unique pictures and vivid stories, the book allows the reader to follow the team through two years of hard training and nine months of sailing in one of the world’s toughest races.
Award-winning photographer Rick Tomlinson, Onboard Reporters Anna-Lena Elled and Corinna Halloran capture the punishing life on board as well as the important work pursued by Team SCA onshore aimed at promoting the rights of women to participate fully in society: socially, educationally and professionally.
“It was a huge honour to be involved with this book and to help to tell the story of this amazing ocean racing team. I hope that everyone who reads it will feel as inspired as I was by the achievements of Team SCA, both on and off the water,” comments Yvonne Gordon.
Squad member Annie Lush added: ‘It’s an emotional journey flicking through the pages of this book. Faces, places and scenes that I know we’ll all treasure for a long time to come, it’s amazing to have it all in one place. I hope that by sharing our story it inspires others to go out there, get wet and most of all pursue something everyone thinks impossible!”
