Team SCA exhibited at the prestigious Getty Images Gallery in London
Over forty stunning photographs from the Team SCA project are being exhibited at the Getty Images Gallery from 1-12 December, 2015
Journey of Change: Women Pushing Boundaries includes images taken onboard Team SCA as they competed on one of the world’s toughest ocean races, the 40,000-mile Volvo Ocean Race. The exhibition also includes photographs from the winners of the Team SCA Academy, a competition run in partnership with Getty Images to empower and engage with female photographers.
The exhibition encapsulates the journey of change both of Team SCA and the women they met as they raced around the world – all of them collectively pushing at boundaries and challenging stereotypes.
“We are thrilled to host this outstanding exhibition,” said Louise Garczewska, Director of Getty Images Gallery. “The gallery performs an important task of engaging, information and entertaining London’s citizens and visitors, so it’s fantastic to be able to shine a light on the phenomenal achievement of Team SCA and give the wider public the opportunity to enjoy and share in their story.”
All the images are available for purchase and all monies raised will be donated to Women in Sport, a charity that champions the right of every woman and girl in the UK to take part in, and benefit from, sport.
Journey of Change: Women Pushing Boundaries is at the Getty Images Gallery, Eastcastle Street, London W1W 8DX from 1-12 December 2015 and is open Monday-Friday 10am-6.30pm and Saturday 12pm-6pm.
